Linux Programming Tools is designed to quickly bring experienced programmers up to speed in a Linux environment. Upon completion of the course, students will be comfortable developing applications on a Linux system.

This course will be taught in a classroom using computers installed with a current Linux distribution. The emphasis will be on hands-on programming, with the time divided between lecture and labs.

Students will learn:

• Tools and methods for developing C programs in a Linux environment.
• Basic concepts of shell programming.
• Makefiles, version control, compiling, linking and debugging.
